Regional Economist Job USA Army Department Engineer’s Norfolk District, located in Norfolk, VA the economist is responsible for the conducting of several complete economic and socio-economic studies to help in collecting, interpreting, and evaluating economics data for the Civil Works projects.

Salary: $74,750 to $97,179 per year
Appointment type: Permanent
Work schedule: Full-time
Travel required: Occasional travel (5% travel for this position)

Responsibilities:
1) Have to make economic and socio-economic analysis of geographic areas or regions and also studies of the economic base and long-range projections.
2) Have to prepare the economic analysis to ensure the justification of projects such as: flood control, environmental restoration, recreation, fish and wildlife enhancement, water quality control, power and navigation etc.
3) Have to provide the technical review for the reports prepared by other organizations.
4) Have to develop and use computer programs to generate the economic consequences.

Qualifications: Basic Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in economics is required.
